😂😂😂 Lovely! relates so much to some geographic locations in our house too .... you just have no idea what is this thing for, but it MIGHT be important ... 😂😂😂

Might is the word lol

You have ONE of these drawers? That's cute. 😉

Ha ha! As it happens, in the last few weeks before we leave these shores and 'our drawer' is one of the last things to be emptied.

I have already decided to tip the entire drawer in the bin.

And be damned!

Good for you 😀

Almost the only time that I open my junk drawer is to look for scissors, a tape measure, and possibly a ruler. I know that there are manuals there that I don’t read and wouldn’t understand. There’s an extra car key, house key and a key to my back gate. Everything else can be thrown out. I’ll let you know if I follow through.

Brad Davenport's avatar

Yes, you have to let me know. I’m waiting for inspiration 😊

My drawer is twinned with yours, right down to those mystery screws and a few batteries that might be brand new or completely dead.

I also have numerous envelopes and Jiffy bags, all of them used but potentially could be used again for something or other just like everything else in there.

I have noticed it’s getting harder to close recently!

Brad Davenport's avatar

lol pity they’re not expandable

Geoff's avatar

Yes it is, in the meantime if anybody needs sewing needles I have an assortment and I really don't know why !

Brad Davenport's avatar

You might find that they come in handy one day

When I was a kid we had a name for ours: "the junk drawer". Very accurate.

Brad Davenport's avatar

Yeah I remember my parents calling it that

I’m with Shane. We have several of these drawers, and oddly enough, they all belong to my husband! Imagine that! 😁

Brad Davenport's avatar

Strange that lol

Shane Cleveland's avatar

Do not, I repeat, do not get rid of that one screw. You will need it one day, and it will be glorious.

Brad Davenport's avatar

That’s what I’m waiting for lol

I brought my stepladder in and was cleaning the covers over the lights the other day. I went into That drawer and found some itty bitty screws I could use because some of these covers were only being held up by one screw and that worked. But, my god, I live in earthquake country. I added another screw where I could.

That drawer also holds(hides) my pliers. When I need them, I can't find them. I walk away and cry. The god of the drawer takes pity on me and, sure enough, when I go back, they're right there. I needed the pliers to turn the screws. I've been here 50 years, and those covers have been painted over innumerable times.

I would be bereft if I tossed what's in that drawer.

I hope each of my grandkids finds something of value in there. Maybe if I put in a couple of Legos, they would go through it

Brad Davenport's avatar

They might. I’m sure they’ll find something of value to them in there 😀

What asweet and positive thought;, thank you.

And you know that if you throw the keys away, you’ll discover the locks they were for just after the garbage man comes.

Brad Davenport's avatar

That’s the fear lol
